See How Goalkeeper Petr Cech Angered Arsenal Fans In 4-2 Loss Against Nottingham Forest In FA Cup
Arsenal supporters have called out goalkeeper, Petr Cech for deciding to tweet during the Gunners’ embarrsing 4-2 defeat in the FA Cup at Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
Since taking over at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger had never lost in the third round of the competition, but Forest’s victory saw the holders crash out of the competition at the City Ground.
Second-choice goalie, David Ospina put in an unconvincing performance in goal for the away side and Petr Cech, who watched the match from home, was busy tweeting.
However, instead of scrutinizing his team-mates’ shocking performance at Forest, the Czech goalkeeper bizarrely chose to tweet just moments after Ben Brereton’s goal to make it 3-1 in the second-half.
Cech had twitted, “You’re welcome! Great tournament, well done to you!” replying to a previous tweet thanking him for an appearance at a youth team tournament.
Attacking the goalkeeper for the tweet, Arsenal supporters wrote, Halley wrote, “Your team is losing for god sake.”
Squid boy lamented, “Not now chief.”
Oluwatosin, said, “Good for you because shortly @Arsenal will be out of the competition.”
Kari asked him, ““Given up watching as well?”
@Bader wrote, “r u not watching the game?
